If they love Deadpool, bring ‘em. If they love crude humor about genitals and sex, bring ‘em. If they love bloody action sequences, tell them to grab an Icee, bring ‘em out, and pack the theater.
End credit thoughts
The plot of Deadpool & Wolverine is entertaining enough to watch with no prior knowledge of Marvel. But no one will get more enjoyment out of this movie than people who have been watching Marvel movies since the late 90s. Seeing the show Loki is not crucial, but it will be helpful in understanding the world this movie takes place in.
If you love Ryan Reynolds, this movie is going to be like an all you can eat buffet. From start to finish (yes, there's an after credits scene) Reynolds is completely unbridled and doing his thing. If the first two Deadpool movies broke the fourth wall, this movie acts like it doesn't exist, and we are the beneficiary.
He might be 24 years into this role, but Hugh Jackman did anything but phone this performance in. He was the same bitter, beatdown, ass-kicking Wolverine so many have grown up watching, but he gets to cuss now. Jackman and Reynolds have as much "action buddy" chemistry as the best of them.
If you have seen most of the movies based on Marvel characters, it's impossible to keep up with the easter eggs and references. At certain points there were audible gasps of surprise and delight when certain characters were revealed.
It's difficult to say which stands out more, the ultra-violent action sequences (set to some absolute banger needle drops), or the unfathomable raunchy humor that manages to find the right note of whit to make it all work. It’s all rounded out when Deadpool and Wolverine give us moments of vulnerability and show us that just because you can’t die, it doesn’t mean you’re not also trying to figure out how to live.
This is the most packed we've seen the theater in a very long time, and not a single person walked out without a smile on their face.
Go see Deadpool & Wolverine on the big screen.
Best road trip movies

Dumb and Dumber (1994) has to take the cake for best roadtrip movie for me. I’m not usually big into dumb humor, but this movie is so dumb that it’s witty and unforgettable. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels absolutely crush. Tell me you aren’t constantly looking for ways to slide, “OUR PETS HEADS ARE FALLING OFF,” into daily conversation.
Josh
Little Miss Sunshine (2006) This movie nails everything a road trip is and everything a road trip needs: an excuse to drive 800 miles, family drama, car troubles, some mental breakdowns, a few swear words, some snacks (sure, snacks are mostly heroin, but be curious, not judgmental), and good music. And the cherry on top of the à la mode, it all begins in our hometown, Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Joy Ride (2001) 🚗 This movie made me terrified of pranks. Any and all. Before the serial killer started serial killing, I actually had a tinge of empathy for him. The chemistry between the characters was chefs kiss. A romance, comedic relief, and an ending with a twist makes for a caldron of perfection.
Also, how could I fail to mention CROSSROADS?? That would just be girl on girl crime. This movie is ✨girlhood✨ that’s all.
Eric
Breakdown (1997) A classic 90’s thriller that has allllll the right ingredients. The performance from J.T. Walsh elevates this to the next level. You won’t ever want to hop in a red jeep after seeing this sucker.

Let’s go back to where it all started for the Scream King himself, Justin Long. Jeepers Creepers (2001) was one of my favorite watches as a blossoming teen and it taught me a couple of valuable lessons. First, don’t roadtrip through the boonies of Michigan. Second, being nosey has consequences. Namely, getting your tongue sucked out by a demon.

We Live In Time (2024) directed by John Crowley
I did not have to watch the trailer to know I need this movie injected directly into my veins. But just because I did not have to watch the trailer does not mean I wasn’t going to (on repeat.) A movie called We Live In Time, produced by A24, starring ANDREW GARFIELD AND FLORENCE PUGH. This photo shouts PURE JOY, but the title and production company screams HEARTBREAK.
These two English actors get to be English characters, which feels right and true, who fall in love after one fell out of it just to have life give a known expiration date to the second chance love?! Make me laugh and smile so hard that the sadness and tears rip and break my heart in a million pieces only to prove how real the joy and love were.
A reminder is set in my AMC app to notify me as soon as tickets are available because, somehow, heartbreak feels good in a place like AMC theaters.
