This week’s movie - “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire”
Letterboxd Description:
The Spengler family returns to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.
Best Watched With
80’s nostalgia nerds (shout out Ecto Cooler Hi-C), Bill Murray and Paul Rudd stans.
End credit thought
If you're going to see it on the big screen, save a few bucks and see a matenee. Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, and Bill Murray bring the laughs, and the tall, dark and horny big bad brings a few jump scares and fright.
The mix of folklore, spirits, and science had Josh's wheels turning and wondering if he could safely remove his spirit from his body.
If you’re looking for an excuse to get to the movies, this is a good time. If you wait to watch it at home, we won’t let Eric hand you a prison sentence.
Movie Etiquette Pt. 3 - How to behave during the movie
Sarah - Listen, now that movies are all approximately 7 hours long (at the minimum), we gotta have some grace for disrupting the movie to go to the bathroom, or we’re all gonna need catheters. But I’ll die on the hill of no phones in the movie theater. I. Will. Die.
Kelly & Eric - Restroom: If it is a first-time viewing, you must allow time prior to the movie's showtime to hit the head. Here is the breakdown by age, if you must go during the showtime:
0-11 years: frowned upon, but allowed
12-69 years: PRISON
70-100: frowned upon, but allowed. Grow up, fix your bladder, and plan better. Texting: PRISON. (Eric)
Absolutely, as long is your brightness is turned down all the way. (Kelly)
Josh - Texting, tweeting, and sweet-nothing whispers of “I want to see that” or “No, hot garbage” during trailers? Permissible. During the movie? Absolutely not*. Getting up to go to the bathroom during the movie? Understandable. Ask me 10 years ago, absolutely not. But on this side of 30, I live in the land of grace and empathy for those who need to pee every hour.
*Exception: Opening weekend? Clap, cheer, boo–participate in all that is happening on the big screen.
New Mexico Drew - Once the movie starts I'm usually locked in and don't care what people do (talk, text, eat triple dip). If you're talking loud enough to distract me, you're inconsiderate and not my friend.
I have really big feet, so anytime someone passes me, I have to pull my knees to my chin like a toddler–that sort of takes me out of the moment.

Civil War (2024) written & directed by Alex Garland
Kirsten Dunst, who went to war and kicked ass in Small Soldiers (1998), returns to battle, but this time as a photojournalist, acting beside her real-life husband Jesse Plemons, who has never failed to crush a role in his life, AND Nick Offerman, aka the legendary Ron Swanson from Parks and Rec, is the President of the United States of America.
Draft me.
This is a big hell yeah.
