We aren’t seeing the same online shaming that we saw last year when people wanted to sing during screenings of Wicked Pt. 1, but now that Pt. 2 is out, how do we feel about singing at the movies? Are we absolutely against it, or do we let the thirty-two-year-old former drama kid try and hit the same notes as Ariana Grande?

End Credit Thoughts
In our original Wicked scorecard we said that it was a journey into another world with first-class singing, fun dance numbers with excellent choreography, and characters we really care about.
We still care about the characters, and the sets are fun to look at, Jon M. Chu didn’t bring his A-game in Wicked: For Good. Part one was more than 30 minutes longer and had a tighter story than this disjointed sequel. This is a pure case of “actors innocent”. Every single character (minus Madam Morrible this time around) still rocks, acts and sings their asses off, but there are so many scenes that mute our beloved cast.
In addition to the all-over-the-place story with a pace that was hard to track, these songs can’t hold a candle to the first movie. Real ball-knowers (those who have seen this on Broadway) knew that was the case before watching, but still it was a bummer to see. Again, great singing all around but we didn’t get the fun choreography or exciting dance numbers. NOW, let’s be clear - not every song can be “Popular” or “Defying Gravity”, but we expected a little more.
Overall, we had fun in the theater and the set designs are worth seeing on a big screen. There were some fun moments, intense action sequences, and heartfelt moments, but overall this movie struggled with pacing, emotion, and characters that felt flat.
Cool to see Dorothy and the gang, on screen, too!
For this one - if you really enjoyed the first movie and love a good musical, check it out in theaters. If you are just wanting to watch in order to see if Jon brought the juice again, wait for streaming. The crew votes theater for the hell of it and the visuals.

Ritual and Remarkable
Our small one-bedroom apartment on the second floor of a small complex on Copper had soft beige carpet. As long as I refrained from wondering what it had collected over the decades, it always felt nice under my bare feet.
